Whole Foods Will Hold Swap in Select Cities

Got any empty beauty product containers? In honor of Beauty Week 2019, Whole Foods is Holding their first-ever Better Beauty Swap on Saturday, March 30, where the first 200 customers can trade in their old cosmetic or body care products for a bag containing only Whole Foods-approved, consumer-conscious beauty products that pass their rigorous quality standards.

  • The Better Beauty Swap will be held in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Los Angeles Whole Foods Market stores
  • Bring in one empty & cleaned product to receive a limited edition Whole Foods Beauty Bag valued at over $100 worth of high-quality beauty products approved by Whole Foods' industry-leading Body Care Standards, which ban over 100 harmful ingredients often found in commercial beauty and body care products
  • The Better Beauty Swap starts at 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. local time

This swap aims at providing customers with better, healthier and safer options when choosing their beauty products by allowing them to trade in their less health-conscious counterparts for products that contain natural and organic ingredients free of chemicals such as formaldehyde, parabens and other fillers that are known to carry certain risks when put on the body.

Whole Foods' commitment to revolutionizing the beauty industry with stricter quality and health standards isn't a gimmick - they even conducted their own survey to have a better idea of just how much consumer awareness is involved when making beauty or body care purchases. The survey found that 33 percent of consumers do not understand the ingredients found in common cosmetics that might be harmful for our body, and 59 percent of consumers do not regularly read the list of ingredients.

“These findings on consumer perceptions and buying habits showcase a continued need for broader awareness around better-for-you beauty and body care ingredients,” said Jen Coccaro, Director of Merchandising, Whole Body. “That is why, as a leader in offering the finest, high-quality beauty, hair and body care products, Whole Foods Market will continue to educate and empower consumers around our belief that what goes on your body is just as important as what goes in it.” Source)
